Release notes
Changes, compatibility notes, and upgrade guidance for BRS-Core.
Current software download: v1.0.1
The v1.0.1 software release and Product Guide are now available. New purchases receive v1.0.1. The published checksum file includes v1.0.1 and the previous v1.0.0 release for historical verification.
Bounded concurrency and a clearer entry point
Version 1.0.1 improves how BRS-Core schedules and runs business capability verifiers. It also renames the runtime executable.
What changed
- Main executable renamed from
exporter/exporter.jstoexporter/brs-core.js. - New
BRS_MAX_CONCURRENT_VERIFIERSsetting, default 5, caps concurrently running verifier child processes. - Excess work waits in an in-memory, first-in-first-out queue. A verifier cannot have overlapping or duplicate queued executions.
- Scheduling intervals are measured from actual execution start; missed intervals are not replayed. If a run exceeds its interval, the next run is scheduled one full interval after completion.
- Timed-out child processes release their concurrency slot after process termination completes.
- New unlabeled Prometheus gauge
brs_verifiers_waitingreports queued verifier runs.
Compatibility and upgrade
Action required: Update commands, scripts, service definitions, and deployment automation that reference exporter/exporter.js. There is no legacy executable wrapper.
Set BRS_MAX_CONCURRENT_VERIFIERS to a positive integer if you want a value other than 5. Invalid values prevent startup.
The canonical verifier module contract, existing metrics, and HTTP endpoints are unchanged. No verifier rewrite is required solely for this release.

The BRS-Core foundation
The initial commercial release provides a self-hosted runtime for discovering, scheduling, and executing independently runnable business capability verifiers; recording structured results; and exporting business capability status through Prometheus metrics, a health endpoint, and a JSON API.
Includes reference verifiers and customer documentation. The v1.0.0 archive and checksum are retained for historical verification and rollback purposes.
