Questions
FAQ
Common questions about W3Patterns, Watchtower, and Business Service Monitoring.
Do you install agents on production servers?
No agents are required for the standard Watchtower deployment. The standard approach is service-level monitoring: websites, APIs, SSL, DNS, ports, and third-party dependencies.
Can Watchtower monitor internal systems?
Yes. The same Watchtower stack can be deployed inside a private network or cloud environment to observe internal websites, APIs, DNS, ports, and services.
Do you host the monitoring system?
The preferred model is deployment on infrastructure owned or controlled by the client. W3Patterns can help provision a small server when needed, but the platform should remain yours.
What happens after deployment?
Your team receives dashboards, alerts, documentation, and guidance. W3Patterns remains available for enhancements, new targets, workflows, and broader observability support.
What technology do you use?
W3Patterns uses industry-standard open-source monitoring technologies selected for reliability, portability, and long-term maintainability.
